This is a 1962 vintage Rolex DAY-DATE / Ref. 1803 / Solid 18kt yellow gold Oyster water resistant case 36mm diameter / Rolex clasp with a brown alligator strap.

Gold dial in perfect condition, rare to find / Early sword-shaped hands and wedge-shaped indexes / Six- and nine-point indexes highlighted in the shape of an axe / The luminescence on the dial has oxidised to a fascinating golden colour

It is equipped with a self-winding 25-diamond caliber 1555, which is not as mechanical as today’s Rolex movements, and has the unique character of that era.

The Oyster case in yellow gold has a sturdy profile, the triangle on the bezel in yellow gold is gleaming, and the handle is part of the classic image of the Rolex Oyster.
